Rosarita Niken Widiastuti

Director General for Public Information and Communications, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (Indonesia)

Rosarita Niken Widiastuti has more than 30 years of experience in journalism, broadcasting, and public service sectors. She is currently the Director General for Public Information and Communications of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. As a director general, she is also positioned as the Chairperson of Indonesian Government Public Relations Coordinating Board. Previously, she held various positions at state-funded public broadcasting institution Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) as the Director of Finance and Administration; the Director of Programme and Production; and the President Director from 2010 to 2015. She also become the President of the Asia Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) General Conference and the Vice Chairperson of the program committee of Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) from 2008 to 2012. As an experienced journalist and broadcaster, she also served as a lecturer at School of Multi Media MMTC and Gajah Mada University in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. She holds bachelor and master degree from Gajah Madah University and is currently pursuing her PhD at Jakarta State University. She received International Women of Change Award from United Nations Women in 2016 and Indonesian Woman Award from Woman Review Magazine in 2013.
