Ms. Seungmi Baik is a curator of cultural relations at the National Museum of Korea, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea. She is currently involved in various international projects including work with the International Council of Museums (ICOM), ICOM-ASPAC (International Council of Museums, Asia-Pacific Alliance), Asia-Europe Museum Network (ASEMUS), Virtual Collection of Asian Masterpieces (VCM), Blue Shield International (BSI) and UNESCO.

Seungmi Baik studied History and Education at Dongguk University, South Korea, and completed a Master’s in History, Education and Cultural History at the Seoul National University Graduate School. She taught History at secondary school level for nine years before becoming a curator for modern and contemporary art projects in London and Seoul in 2008. Since 2015, she has been with the National Museum of Korea as a curator within the exhibition division. Among the exhibitions she has curated are; 10 000 Years of Finnish Design (2019), 500 Years of the Joseon Dynasty Maps (2018), Unbuttoning the French fashion from the 18th to the 20th century (2017), Treasures from Afghanistan (2016) and Rubens and Other Masters (2015).
