The winners of the 2019 Youth Eyes on the Silk Roads International photo contest will be announced online in mid-April 2020 at: https://en.unesco.org/silkroad and https://unescosilkroadphotocontest.org

The 2019 Youth Eyes on the Silk Roads photo contest was the second edition of this annual international competition and was open for entries from 19 September 2019 to 6 January 2020. More than 3,500 photos were received and considered by the members of the International Selection Committee composed of six renowned professionals.

The contest is divided into two age categories: 14-17 year olds and 18-25 year olds, and three winners will be selected from each of the age categories.

Participants were invited to submit photos that best encapsulate the shared heritage of the Silk Roads through one or more of the three themes of Gastronomy and Food Production, Traditional Sports and Games, and Music and Dance.

Throughout this year, a travelling exhibition of the photos that best represent the spirit of the contest will be exhibited in various places around the world. These exceptional photos will also be published in a photo album in the coming months.

While waiting for the winners announcement, you can still take a look at the winning photos from the first edition of the photo contest here. And at the "Youth Lens on the Silk Roads" photo album compiling the best photos from the first edition.
