In commemoration of the nomination of the Fallas as an element of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO last year, the parade will be organized in Valencia, Spain, on 20 October 2017. This event aims to make a small tribute to the Silk Roads, especially to the silk pieces that the Fallas representatives wear during the festivities.

The Queens of the Silk is a parade of traditional silk dresses all stemming from Valencia, the city that poses as the cultural space of the Valencia Fallas festivity. More than 35 falleras mayores de Valencia, or, the queens will attend the parade wearing the highly coveted traditional dresses, made with the Valencian exclusive Espolines, something that is rarely seen. Lastly, a tribute will be made to honor the last silk weaver in Valencia, Mr. Vicente Enguidanos, in the monument.
