United Nations Peacebuilding Fund (UNPBF)
The United Nations Peacebuilding Fund (PBF) was launched in 2006 to support activities, actions, programmes and organizations that seek to build a lasting peace in countries emerging from conflict. It supports peacebuilding activities that strengthen the capacity of governments, national/local institutions and transitional or other relevant authorities.
As part of its ongoing support to media development in Myanmar, UNESCO is working to strengthen national and local media’s capacities in conflict-sensitive reporting and professional standards through a project financed by the UN Peacebuilding Fund.
Voluntary contributions have strengthened UNESCO’s work in freedom of expression in dozens of countries around the world.
