Sangeeth Varghese is a globally acknowledged leadership thinker, ranked among the top 10 in 2011, from the Harvard and London School of Economics. He is a personal advisor to 3 prime ministers of the world on matters of leadership and youth development. Varghese is an ambassador of Harvard and listed in the Who's Who in the World, 2012-13. Varghese was chosen to guest edit the New Year edition of Times of India as a 'Young Achiever Making a Difference to India's Future'. Prior to this, Varghese was a Principal Consultant for UNO in London. He also has the unique distinction of being part of the core teams that helped India's telecom penetration grow from 1 to 50% and the personal computer spread from the metros to tier 2 and 3 towns. He researched leadership at Harvard and the London School of Economics with scholarships. He has also done his MBA and Bachelor's in Economics with gold medals.

I hold a bachelor degree in European development studies from University College Cork in Ireland and a masters degree in International development studies from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), where I focused specifically on natural resource and forest management. Ive worked as a Norwegian Peace Corp Participant at Sokoine university of Agriculture in Tanzania where I participated in research on rural development, innovative agricultural practices and sustainable resource management. Currently I am completing a PhD at the University of Sheffield on social protection mechanisms in Brazil and their social and environmental outcomes.

I have a PhD in Public Health from the University of Sheffield, UK, Masters in Rural Development from UK and Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and Business Administration from Nepal. I have expertise in qualitative, quantitative, mixed method studies and participatory video research and my research interests are in Public Health, Health systems strengthening, Water and Sanitation, Urban Health, TB and Tobacco, Participatory Video Making and Disaster Risk Reduction. I am currently involved in 3 researches in Nepal, one as CoI and pst Postdoctoral fellow at the University of Sheffield and two as PI through PHASE Nepal (www.phasenepal.org) a NGO I co founded in 2006 in Nepal. Currently I am work as a Research Fellow with the Nuffield Centre for International Health and Development in the University of Leeds and involved in TB&Tobacco Research in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal. Originally, I am a development professional with over 20 years of experience in designing and implementing development projects in Nepal and currently moving towards operational researches. In addition to my current research roles as above. I remotely lead above NGO which has over 150 staff with around 30 projects with annual fund raising of around £2 million. I have also received “The Chancellor’s Medal” from the University of Sheffield in 2016.

I am currently the Editor of the Global Social Policy Digest, and my policy work is focused at the intersection of universal health coverage and social protection in the context of the 2030 Agenda. Most recently, I have worked as a consultant and advisor for the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe. I am also a visiting scholar at the University of Kansas in the US and a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bremen in Germany, where I examine histories and colonial legacies of social protection in Africa. Previously, I completed my DPhil at the University of Oxford on the history of development assistance and social protection in hegemonic powers, and I also completed a fellowship in global social protection at Harvard University.
