21 years after the adoption of the Lisbon Declaration on Youth Policies and Programmes, the "World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth 2019 and Youth Forum Lisboa+21" will provide space for national governments and young women and men, to discuss progress made since 1998, current opportunities and challenges, as well as innovative and operational approaches to enhance the relevance of policies and programmes affecting youth, within the context of Agenda 2030.br /
The Conference and Youth Forum will jointly finalize a renewed Ministerial commitment towards building effective, innovative and evidence-informed policies and programmes with and for youth. br /br /In line with its Operational Strategy on Youth 2014-2021, UNESCO is endorsing the Conference and is committed to supporting its preparation, running and follow-up.br /br /During the Conference, UNESCO will contribute as follows:br /• Keynote speech by Nada Al-Nashif, Assistant Director-General for Social and Human Sciences of UNESCO, during the Interactive session, on Youth Policies and Programmes in the framework of the SDGs (22 June, 4pm).br /• Keynote speech by the UNESCO Office in Hanoi during the Youth Forum Parallel session on “Governance and Participation” highlighting the participatory formulating process of the new Youth Law in Vietnam ( 22/06, 2pm).br /• Side event on “Youth Policies 2.0: Building better policies with, for and by youth” (22 June, 12:30pm). br /• Speech by Ms Bushra Ebadi (YouthOfUNESCO, 10th UNESCO Youth Forum participant and member of the Canadian Commission for UNESCO) at the “Youth shaping the future” session (23 June, 10 am).br /• Technical contribution and engagement in the Steering Committee, responsible, among others, for the finalization of the draft Ministerial Declaration.
