This high-level meeting marks two years of progress since health and education ministers and representatives from 20 countries in Eastern and Southern Africa affirmed the landmark ESA Commitment, supporting sexuality education and sexual and reproductive health services for adolescents and young people. Held on the side-lines of the International AIDS Conference in Durban, South Africa, the meeting brings together ministers, government officials and representatives from civil society and development to discuss the progress of the ESA Commitment

The representatives will:
• Review progress towards the ESA Commitment 2015 targets, share best practices and agree on next steps to accelerate progress towards 2020 targets;
• Discuss ways to strengthen cross-sectoral collaboration to ensure effective delivery of all the ESA Commitment targets; and
• Reaffirm political commitment by endorsing ROADMAP 2020, which outlines key milestones to reach the 2020 targets.
