First UNESCO Leadership Symposium on Education for Sustainable Development

This is the first in a series of symposia for high-level education policy makers on Education for sustainable development (ESD) which aims to provide them with a rare opportunity to have an immersive experience with sustainability principles and reflect upon them in view of their respective national contexts.

This three-day symposium will consist of visits and discussions with concerned stakeholders and leading and transformative figures in their work for ESD and sustainability. There is also ample time set aside for reflective discussion among the participants, which takes place in a highly informal and interactive atmosphere, with formal presentations or speeches spared to the essential minimum.
