Philippe Pypaert at p.pypaert@unesco.orgAs well as participating in EXPO Milan as a member of the UN system under the banner “The Zero Hunger Challenge. United for a Sustainable World”, UNESCO has prepared a broad set of activities and events in and around Venice and other Italian UNESCO sites as part of the Venice to EXPO 2015 programme. The "Behind Food Sustainability" exhibition forms the core of UNESCO’s contribution to Venice to Expo 2015. It will be shown in Venice and in other UNESCO designated sites in the Veneto and further afield in Italy.
Padua's botanical garden was founded in 1545 as a garden of simples and is now a World Heritage site of immense scientific and cultural value. The Biodiversity Garden is a new museum housing almost 1,300 species and recreating the planet's major ecosystems.
For 3 weeks, the Botanical Garden of Padua will host the 'Behind Food Sustainability' exhibition, plus a series of conferences on the theme of biodiversity and food.
