Philippe Pypaert at p.pypaert@unesco.orgThe 2nd International Conference has the purpose of consolidating future activities of the Global Network of Water Museums (WAMU-NET). It includes the presentation and discussion of common strategic projects, the mechanisms for internal coordination, and the establishment of 3 internal working groups (Research, Education, SDGs). The presentation of new water museums which have shown interest to participate and become partners of the Network is foreseen.
The 2nd Conference of WAMU-NET is supported by the International Hydrological Programme of UNESCO and organized by Civiltà dell’Acqua International Centre (Venice), Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (Italy), Kring Vrienden van ‘s-Hertogenbosch, and the Netherlands National IHPHWRP Committee.
Following the 1st International Conference of WAMU-NET (Venice, May 2017), and the endorsement of UNESCO-IHP Bureau (55th Session, June 2017), also the topic of a Resolution to be approved by the next Intergovernmental Council Session of IHP (June 2018) will be discussed. The related strategy aimed at involving additional IHP National Commissions will be shared with all participants to create new opportunities for all.
