Kudakwashe Foya is a recent graduate from the University of Zimbabwe in the department of community and social development.She has worked with several non-profit organisations, including Hope Sustains Life, which leverages technology and Innovation to provide education to refugees, starting with the Nyarugusu refugee camp in Tanzania. She is interested in research into education access, development and inclusion, as exemplified by her Say What research fellowship into COVID-19 disruptions of educational routines of Students Of Determination.This programme was funded by the Swedish Embassy.

I am a sociolinguist whose research focuses on language and identity; linguistic prejudice; and linguistic rights, all applied to educational contexts. Currently, my research applies such topics to the areas of World Englishes, and accentism within UK teaching, with accents a category that I argue should be protected.
