Global inequality

This edX online learning course in sociology introduces you to core concepts of class, gender, and racial inequality, and an approach to studying complex forms of inequality called intersectionality. The course features interviews with top scholars and discussion of the full-length award winning documentary, China Blue, which follows the life of a young seventeen-year-old worker from Sichuan province, to a Chinese jeans factory. 

 

Education for all

This Future Learn Education for all online course focuses on addressing the barriers to learning and participation in inclusive education. Although inclusive education is about all forms of diversity, this course specifically addresses disability.

 

The course is aimed at teachers, other professionals and parents interested in developing inclusive education. The outline is as follows: 

 

Design thinking for social inclusion

In this audio lecture, sponsored by the Stanford Social Innovation Review,  Jocelyn Wyatt, social innovation lead at the award-winning consultancy IDEO, describes her organization’s efforts in Asia, Africa, and Latin America to use design thinking, a problem-solving system that is grounded in a client’s or costumer’s needs.
