For media to be most effective in serving their communities, the range of broadcasters, print and online platforms must reflect the diversity and range of opinions of their audiences. Improving diversity and pluralism in the media means providing greater opportunities for young people, as well as fostering the participation of ethnic and linguistic minorities, persons with disabilities and marginalised groups to have their voices heard and actively contribute to media content creation and policy planning.
