Alexander Reitzenstein's picture
Short description: 
Alexander Reitzenstein works as a Senior Policy Advisor in E3G’s Berlin office. His work aims at the transition to a net zero economy, with foci on the energy and industry sectors, sustainable finance, green deal and climate politics. He coordinates E3G’s global activities on just transition. Since 2019, Alexander is a Visiting Fellow at Das Progressive Zentrum, focusing on structural change, inclusive growth and the links of climate change and foreign policy. He previously worked as a consultant with SEEK Development, specializing in development finance, advocacy strategies, and organizational change, in support of clients in the UN system, philanthropic foundations, NGOs, and the public sector. Prior to SEEK, he contributed to the efforts of various organizations including adelphi, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and LSE’s Centre for Economic Performance on tasks ranging from the analysis of transformation pathways towards a green economy, to the evaluation of political processes in the European Union. Alexander holds master’s degrees in Public Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science and the Hertie School of Governance, where he focused on climate change, economic policy, and organizational strategy. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science, business, and economics from University of Munich, which included a semester abroad at American University, Washington, DC.

Dr Jeffrey Hardy is a Senior Research Fellow at the Grantham at Imperial College London, where he researches energy market transformation, innovative energy business models and the role of consumers and citizens in future energy systems. He leads a team in the UK Energy Revolution Research Consortium examining the policy and regulation of smart local energy systems. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Public Power Solutions, a wholly-owned company of Swindon Borough Council specialising is renewable power and waste solutions. Previously he was Head of Sustainable Energy Futures at the GB energy regulator, Ofgem and Head of Science for Work Group III of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. He’s also worked at the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the UK Energy Research Centre, the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Green Chemistry Group at the University of York and at Sellafield as research chemist in a nuclear laboratory.
