SHORT DESCRIPTION

Responding to a call from UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Committee for Physical Education and Sport (CIGEPS) during the World Sports Ministers Conference (MINEPS V) in 2013, and benefiting from the input of more than 50 organizations and individual experts, from all world regions, UNESCO published the Quality Physical Education policy package comprising a “how to” guide (Quality Physical Education Guidelines for Policy-Makers), a Methodology document, an infographic and a webpage.

Thanks to the financial support of the International Olympic Committee and Nike, Fiji, Mexico, South Africa, Tunisia and Zambia are being supported by UNESCO and partners (the EC, IBE, ICSSPE, IOC, Nike, UNDP, UNICEF and WHO) to revise their national Physical Education policies to be inclusive, developmentally appropriate and child-centered, in line with the QPE Guidelines and Methodology document.
