Progress update (March 2021)
The International Commission on the Futures of Education has released a Progress Update on its work. It includes background information on the initiative and its ambitions, an introduction to the its co-construction and consultation features, and a provisional outline of the Report and the main lines of argument.
In line with the spirit of a broad consultation and co-construction process,
UNESCO welcomes comments and suggestions (deadline 30 April 2021).
It will also be available in Arabic and Spanish soon
New publication (June 2020)
The Covid-19 crisis has revealed inequalities and vulnerabilities, but it has also surfaced extraordinary human resourcefulness and potential. In its new report Education in a post-COVID world: Nine ideas for public action, the International Commission on the Futures of Education proposes policy actions that can be taken today to advance education tomorrow.

Launch of the Futures of Education initiative (September 2019)
UNESCO’s Futures of Education: Learning to Become initiative was launched at the UN General Assembly in September 2019. The establishment of an International Commission to be chaired by Ethiopian President Sahle-Work Zewde was announced at the event.
