Introduction
I am a PhD canditate at Global Governance Deparment. I am holding a Master of LLM with 7 years of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) experience in working with refugees, specifically in providing legal and psychosocial support to sexual and gender based violence survivors, unaccompanied and separated children, and children exposed to child marriage and child labour. I have a project and training expertise on International Refugee Law, International Human Rights Law and Refugee Protection.
Expert
I worked as a Senior Field Protection Associate at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Turkey, in charge of child/women protection, education, and community-based protection programs. I have experience in providing technical support on gender equality to UNHCR’s implementing partners as well as the monitoring and evaluation of gender-based programs. Additionally, I am very well qualified in preparing and providing training programs on international human rights, specifically on the prevention of gender-based violence (GBV). I worked as the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) focal point in the UNHCR office and my responsibilities were preparing tools and documents on PSEA, as well as receiving and responding to PSEA incidents in the designated area for UNHCR staff. Under the Inter-Agency Coordination Structure for Syrian refugees in Turkey, I prepared and led GBV working groupshosting governmental authorities, UN agencies, INGOs, and Bar Associations.
