Yassir Jakani is a Doctoral Fellow, Research Associate and Lecturer at Ruhr University Bochum (Germany), specializing in radicalization, extremism and terrorism. He holds Master’s degrees in History, Educational Sciences and German Studies. His research has examined the structural and ideological origins of Islamist extremism, as well as historical perspectives on transnational extremism in Germany. He is currently investigating both public and state responses to right-wing extremist violence, with a particular focus on the experiences of victims and affected communities.
