I am a Professor of Economics at Koç University and Director of the Koç University-TUSIAD Economic Research Forum. I am the recipient of the Yapı Kredi Chair of Economic Research. After receiving my Ph.D. from University of California at Davis, I worked as an economist at the Federal Reserve Board between 2000 and 2005, after which Ijoined the Economics department at Koç University. I focus on monetary policy and central banking in my research. My work on the economic costs of vaccine inequality was used as a reference in media and academia.
