Urban Geographer with Long Island University, with professional focus on education for sustainable development and SDG 4.7. Current interests focus on the intersection of personal and planetary health.
Expert
I currently lead an innovative project on "total wellness" in Wyandanch, NY. This community education project is part of a state-wide initiative on children's environmental health sponsored by NYSCHECK and addresses the social determinants of health that impact local youth in this African-American and Latino community through community partnerships. As an Evolutionary Leader (.net), I use our powerful new unitive narrative to accelerate progress on the UN SDGs and create new institutional frameworks for tackling "new threats to human security in the Anthropocene," as defined by UNDP in their 2022 report. Lastly I advise Drawdown East End and strengthen their community-based project for lowering carbon footprints so this initiative scales regionally and internationally.
