Paulista is a Communication Specialist at an Indonesia-based foundation working to improve citizen participation in the making of the cities, Kota Kita. She is responsible for the foundation's communication strategy and campaign to advocate for joint-stakeholders actions towards more sustainable and socially just Indonesian cities. Paulista contributes to the data analysis and facilitation of series of public discussion to develop A Disability-inclusive City Profile of Solo City, a joint initiative with UNESCO Jakarta office.

She is the lead organizer of the annual, civil-society led forum, The Urban Social Forum and the Asian member campaigner of an international, multi-stakeholder advocacy group, the Global Platform for Right to the City. She holds a BA with Honours in Communication, Cultural Studies from Monash University.
