Prof Patricia Justino is a leading expert on political violence and development. She is currently UNU-WIDER’s Deputy Director and a Professorial Fellow at the Institute of Development Studies (UK) (on leave). She has led major research programmes on the links between violent conflict and development and has held several policy advisory positions, including DFID, FAO, UNDP, UNESCO, UN Women and the World Bank. She holds a MPhil in Economics from Cambridge and a PhD in Economics from London. She held a visiting position at Harvard (2007-09).
