Norman Abjorensen is a Visiting Fellow in the Policy and Governance Program in the Crawford School of Public Policy at The Australian National University, Canberra. He previously taught political science at the ANU’s School of Social Sciences and at the University of Canberra.
He is a former national editor of the Sydney Morning Herald. He has taught at universities in Japan, China, and the Philippines and is currently writing a history of democracy, to be published in 2019. Since 2013, he has been part of the Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) project at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, producing an annual report card on the state of global democracy.
