Introduction
Dr Niccolo Durazzi is a Lecturer in Political Economy of Social Policy at the University of Edinburgh and a Research Associate at LSE Enterprise, where he has worked since 2010. He holds a PhD in Social Policy from LSE, an MSc (distinction) in European Political Economy from the LSE European Institute, an MA (honours) from the University of Bologna in International Cooperation, Development and Human Rights, and a BA in International and Diplomatic Science. His research on education, skills and labour market policy has appeared in leading politics and social policy journals such as Journal of European Public Policy, Politics and Society, Socio-Economic Review and Social Policy and Administration. He is co-author of several reports for various public sector clients, including a research paper for the UK Government, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills on the social benefits of higher education and a study for the European Parliament on measures against youth unemployment. His other clients have also included the European Commission, EU agencies, national governments and international organisations.
