Introduction
Neeraj Kumar Mehra is Olympism Researcher and SDP Practitioner who is working as Assistant Professor-Physical Education with the Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Delhi as Guest Faculty in India. His area of interest includes Olympism, Olympic and Paralympic Movement, Olympic and Paralympic Education, Olympic and Paralympic Values, Quality Physical Education Policy, Inclusive Physical Education, Mobilisation of UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030 through Sports, Intangible Cultural Heritage through Sports, Global Active Cities and closely associated with various national and international stakeholders of related areas.
Mr Mehra has worked as a Research Officer with Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and Assistant Private Secretary. He has contributed to various government schemes like Elite Athletes Identification Committee, Target Olympic Podium (TOP), National Sports Development Fund (NSDF), Corporate Social Responsibility in Sports, Office of Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, Matters related to National Youth Advisory Council, International Cooperation Cell (IC), Human Resource Development in Sports (HRDS), National Sports University (NSU), National Centre for Sports Science and Research (NCSS&R), National Centre for Sports Coaching (NCSC), Matters related to Cabinet Communications, Right to Information regarding NSU, NCSS&R, NCSC, Khelo India School Games, Cash Awards to Medal Winners of Asian Games, Out of Pocket Allowance to Athletes (OPA), DBT, PFMS etc.
Mr. Neeraj Kumar Mehra has also worked with Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, Government of India in her personal establishment as Assistant Private Secretary and handled various bureaucratic and political matters.
He has worked as Lecturer with the State Council of Educational Research and Training, New Delhi and conducted workshops on Health and Physical Education and related areas.
Mr.Mehra was Project Officer with Organising Committee Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010 where he was involved with research, publications and training of Elementary Teachers Trainees and other general teachers. His other working experience includes tenure as a Teacher at school, collages, and university levels.
He is a graduate in physical education, health education and sports sciences from Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Delhi and a postgraduate in physical education from the Department of Physical Education, Kurukshetra University in India.
Neeraj Kumar Mehra is the first candidate from India in the Master Degree Programme ‘Olympic Studies, Olympic Education, Management and Organisation of Olympic Events organised by International Olympic Academy and Department of Sports Organisation and Management, Faculty of Human Movement and Life Sciences University of Peloponnese in collaboration with International Olympic Academy, Ancient Olympia, Athens, Greece.
His international academic contribution is documented in the Imagine Peace Youth Camp, Olympia Praxis Summer Programme, International Session for International Olympic Academy Participants Association, International Session for Directors of National Olympic Academies. He has co-authored 8 books, 06 Research Papers, 01 Article, 03 Abstracts. He has received various international fellowships like John. S. Latsis Fellowship in 2010, Olympia Alliance Fellowship in 2013, Olympic Solidarity Fellowship in 2014, International Olympic Truce Centre Fellowship in 2014. He has widely travelled worldwide for professional assignments such as Greece, Nepal, South Africa Latvia & USA, Korea & UK. He has been invited 15 times as Resource Person/Expert and has given more than 20 Presentations. He is a member of 7 National Committees and 02 Academic Projects, including the Swastha Bachhe Swastha (SBSB) Bharat project of KVS, launched by the Minister of Human Resource Development. He was Internship Abroad Supervisor for Master Level student from France.

He is Chief Executive Officer of Dr B.R. Ambedkar Sports Foundation (An Organisation in Special Consultative Status with UN ECOSOC Since 2021). He is Country Representative of International Olympic Academy Participants Association-India. He was also elected Executive Council Member of the International Olympic Academy Participants Association for 2019-2021.

Mr. Mehra is a council member with the International Traditional Sports and Games Association (ITSGA), Ad-hoc committee member of the Asian Traditional Sports and Games Association and Board member of the Traditional Sports and Games Association (TSG-India)
