I have worked as an academic economist based in Melbourne since 2005, after obtaining my PhD in Economics from the University of British Columbia. My research fields are Labour Economics and the Economics of Education, and my research is empirical. I have a particular focus on the Australian labour market (and the effects of technology, trade, education and policy on individual outcomes), with additional focus on differences by gender. I also focus on the determinants of education attainment, including family background, the role of school principals and of accountability and pricing policies.
