Maya Chehade has worked for several years in the private sector with vulnerable populations and refugees in the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa, before starting her doctoral research at Sciences Po on the impact of the private sector on Syrian refugees' economic and social inclusion in the Middle East.
Through her doctoral research, Maya is currently evaluating the impact of international development policies that promoted private sector development in countries across the Middle East with a special focus on Jordan. Her objective is to provide a better understanding of the social changes that occurred within Syrian refugees' networks during their migration to host countries in their 'region of origin'. She hopes to better inform policies and programs that seek to promote economic and social inclusion of vulnerable populations in contexts of migrations or returns.
