Many women in India are not familiar with the F-word (Feminism) owing to several factors such as family set up, societal/marital conditions, economic, and cultural practices. The Indian notion of feminism is different from Western notions of the same, due to the differences in their needs, in terms of its heterogeneity and a struggle to accommodate that heterogeneity without subsuming it. Most of my work revolves around women’s rights as well as the LGBTQIA+ rights in India. My most recent battle has been advocating for the Menstruation Bill to pass in India, which is currently tabled at the parliament.
