I'm a sociologist and academic teacher and researcher, working in the field of migration and integration. I teach courses on anti-discrimination, migration, multiculturalism and citizenship, and I'm involved in integration programmes at the municipal level.
Expert
Karolina Czerska-Shaw holds a PhD in Sociology and is assistant professor at the Institute of European Studies, Jagiellonian University in Krakow., Poland Her research interests include migration and integration policies and practices, local migration governance, civic education and citizenship testing schemes, as well as issues of belonging in transnational social spaces and international student mobility. She has coordinated international teaching programmes since 2010 and is involved in the development of teaching and learning in higher education. In her research she studies the contestation of EU migration and asylum policies, particularly from the point of view of civil society actors, integration policies for diversity at the local level, as well as issues of belonging and well-being in super-mobility. She is involved in policy delivery at the local governance level.
