I am an assistant professor jointly appointed in the School of the Environment and the African Studies Centre at the University of Toronto, Canada. My research focuses on climate change, biodiversity conservation, land governance, food security, and sustainability in Africa.

My research is mainly focused on biodiversity conservation, climate change, land governance, and sustainability in East Africa. In addition, I study have keen interest in education, rural development, agriculture, and food security in Eastern Africa. I am interested in engaging in policy discussions around these themes as they manifest in East Africa and sub-Saharan Africa writ large.
