Jurgen De Wispelaere is a public policy scholar with a particular interest in welfare state research and social protection. He is a leading expert on the politics of basic income and has published extensively on this topic in international journals and edited collections. He currently works on two projects: understanding the policy impact of basic income experiments and exploring the role of crisis events in basic income policy development. He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Office of the Pilot Plan to implement Universal Basic Income in Catalunya.
