I am a PhD candidate in political science at the European University Institute in Florence, and I research (anti-)corruption, political mobilization, and democratic innovation in the Mediterranean region and the Arab world. In my research, I combine cutting edge quantitative approaches with carefully accumulated qualitative insights. I am an alumnus of and visiting lecturer at Sciences Po Paris. I furthermore hold/have held affiliations with the American University of Beirut, the Robert Schuman Center’s Middle East Directions Programme. I speak German, English, Italian, French and Arabic.
