I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at the National University of Singapore. My research focuses on the political economy of development, particularly the connections between economic forces and political (in)stability in developing countries. I teach methods for research in applied microeconomics. I hold an M.Sc. degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University. Prior to academia I collected experience in the financial sector and foreign service of Switzerland.
