Helena Hinke Dobrochinski Candido is University Lecturer at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, University of Helsinki, Finland. She holds a PhD in Political Sociology and a Master’s degree in Regional Development. She recently completed a post-doctoral research project funded by the Academy of Finland in which she explored the dynamics of Finnish education export. Her main research interest lies in comparative education, primarily focusing on education politics and policies.

Helena is particularly concerned with large-scale assessments and indicators as source of evidence for policymaking, the interface of public and private actors in education governance, marketization in and commercialization of education, social justice in and through education. Her primary geographical areas of research are Brazil and Finland.
