I am currently a Professor of International Law & International Relations at the Cardiff University School of Law & Politics. Also, I am an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Public Law, Nelson Mandela University, South Africa. Furthermore, I am a Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales(FLSW), the national scholarly academy for arts and sciences for Wales. Additionally, I am one of the editors of a six-volume book project on The Law of the Sea - Contemporary Norms and Practice in Africa and a member of the Advisory Board of the Brazilian Yearbook of Law of the Sea(BYLOS). Having a fine blend of experience in academia and practice I undertake interdisciplinary teaching and research in the areas of Public International Law, Law of the Sea(including underwater cultural heritage), Human Rights in Africa and International Organizations, especially the United Nations and African Union. I have published widely in these areas and made academic and professional presentations at various international conferences.
Besides, I have been involved in national and international public policy development through my contributions to professional workshops and providing advice as consultant to entities, such as the United Nations, International Seabed Authority and African Union.
