My program of research focuses upon improving the mental health and overall wellbeing of Black women IPV survivors. I am a leading expert in implementing and evaluating a range of interventions that improve the psychological health of understudied women IPV survivors in trusted community settings. I developed the first theories that identify the psychosocial needs of Black survivors. My work in this area received six awards, including one international, and has been used to guide IPV services internationally, nationally and locally.
