Désirée is a Research Fellow at the German Institute for Global and Area Studies and the Center of Conflict Studies at the University of Marburg, working on state violence against peaceful civil society, security sector reform, sustainable peace, militarization of public security. She has a regional focus on Latin America, especially Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala and Costa Rica.
