Chris Peers has published research on the concepts of "care" and "belonging" with special regard for early childhood education. Her work examines the way in which these terms are defined and used in policy and curriculum in a range of educational contexts. Dr Peers teaches pre-service teachers about the relationships between families and staff in early learning services and schools, so as to improve the quality of the relationships between parents, children, and educational professionals.
