Ammina Kothari is a journalism professor and director of the Harrington School of Communication and Media at the University of Rhode Island. Her research focuses on the role of technology in transforming communication and journalism practices. She employs a range of qualitative and quantitative methods and some of her ongoing research projects include comparative analyses of global journalistic practices in the context of artificial intelligence and automation, the role of journalists, and social media in shaping public controversial social and political issues.
