Associate Professor Vivienne Anderson is Dean of the University of Otago College of Education, New Zealand. Vivienne has a PhD in education and anthropology and is a former teacher. Her research utilises qualitative and participatory approaches to interrogate questions relating to education pathways and social justice – currently, with refugee-background young people.

I have expertise in the areas of education and social policy; education pathways; internationalisation politics, policy and practice; and gender, equity and education. I have published extensively in the areas of higher education internationalisation; education policy and practice; and refugee education. My research draws on critical and indigenous theoretical perspectives.
