ALEIDIS DEVILLE holds a PhD in sociology and she lectures at Thomas More University College. She gave lectures as a guest professor at the faculty of Psychology and Pedagogical Sciences and the faculty of Social Sciences of KU Leuven for multiple years. She carries out qualitative and quantitative research on topics like social work, social policy, migration and social inclusion. She wrote two books on topics related to inclusion and numerous articles about well being, inclusion and integration in internationally reviewed journals and other scientific journals. During the academic year 2015-16 she supervised one team of researchers in Social Work and Psychology working on the topic of “Attidude and perception of students regarding People with Intellectual Disabilities” and another team focusing on “Opportunities for People with Intellectual Disabilities on the Thomas More campus in Geel”. She coordinates the international project 'InclusiveCampus Life', supported by Erasmus+ with the main goal to make a university campus more inclusive for people with intellectual disabilities.
