Introduction
Dr. YANG Lan (Joy) is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Curriculum and Instruction athe Education University of Hong Kong. She obtained her Ph. from The University of Hong Kong and her doctoral dissertation on a longitudinal intervention on promoting Chinese students’ academic self-concept and academic achievement was awarded the "Highly Commended Dissertation Award" by the Global SELF Research Network (2013); selection panel was chaired by Prof. Herbert Marsh (Top 1% Highly-Cited Researcher in the Social Sciences and one of the most productive educational psychologists in the world)

I have been working on educational assessments into inclusive education for over ten years. I also serve as the co-director of centre for special educational needs and inclusive education, the Education University of Hong Kong, supervising univerity-/regional-/and international-level projects to support educational assessments of a wide range of psychological factors (e.g., self-concept, self-esteem, career development self-efficacy, career adaptability, meaning in life, emotional well-being, etc.) among students with special educational needs for informing better instructional practices.
