Miquel Torrents-Ticó is a PhD student at the University of Helsinki. Through his PhD, he takes an interdisciplinary approach complementing social and natural sciences. Member of the Hyaena Specialist Group from the IUCN Species Survival Commission, a National Geographic Explorer and a Fulbright grantee. His research area in biocultural diversity has taken him around the world, from tropical rainforests to arid deserts, enabling him to work in countries such as Costa Rica, Ecuador, South Africa, Botswana, Namibia and Kenya. His interest in biocultural conservation has grown along with the ever-increasing conflicts between humans and wildlife.
