I'm a Research Associate at the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI)'s Asia Centre in Bangkok, Thailand. My current work focuses on equitable and inclusive development and disaster risk reduction strategies for vulnerable groups, particularly for people with disabilities. I'm also interested in the role that culture plays in shaping disaster risk interpretation and response.

My current position is Research Associate at the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI)'s Asia Centre in Bangkok, Thailand. I have several years of experience in inclusive disaster risk reduction (DRR) and development research, policy and practice, with a specialization in Southeast Asia. My current work focuses on inclusive and context-specific DRR strategies, particularly for people with disabilities. I have a Master’s degree in Cultures and Development Studies from the University of Leuven, Belgium, and a Bachelor’s degree in International Development Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles, USA. My Master’s thesis analyzed humanitarian aid interventions in coastal areas of Southern India, focusing on the degree to which such interventions have been equitable, culturally-sensitive and sustainable in the long-term. I have experience in innovative systems design for social innovation, monitoring and evaluation and critical social and environmental research. My publications include academic journal articles, policy and research briefs, and background papers for major global reports.
