Jason Fritz, Ph.D., is a researcher and consultant on fragile and conflict-affected states, the intersection of security and development, the politics of policing, and political violence. In addition to many years as an applied researcher in the private sector, he has been a consultant at the World Bank and senior research analyst at the Brookings Institution. He is also a lecturer at Johns Hopkins University and a contributing editor at War on the Rocks.

Jason Fritz, Ph.D., is a researcher and consultant on peacebuilding, fragile and conflict states, the intersection of security and development, the politics of policing, and political violence. Prior to his current position, he was a consultant at the World Bank and a researcher at the Brookings Institution. Before that, he was an applied researcher and consultant on a wide array of defense and foreign policy issues for the U.S. Government. From 2002 through 2008, he was an officer in the U.S. Army with operational and planning experience in Iraq. Jason has been a panelist at numerous international forums and workshops and publishes widely for expert and public audiences.
Jason received his Ph.D. in Justice, Law and Criminology and M.S. in Terrorism and Homeland Security Policy from American University. He received his B.S. in Mathematical Sciences from the United States Military Academy at West Point. A lecturer at Johns Hopkins Center for Advanced Governmental Studies, Jason has also taught at American University and George Washington University. He is also a Contributing Editor at War on the Rocks.
