I am a fourth year PhD candidate at the Department of Political Science in Stony Brook University New York. I am primarily interested in understanding and analyzing human behavior, be it participation in elections, community engagement, protests, or donation to a cause. In my dissertation, I examine people’s motivations for collective action, specifically in diverse goal-oriented movements like climate change protests. In other cross-discipline projects (with collaborators from engineering and urban planning), I have examined the impact of social vulnerability in post-disaster recovery. In my research, I use quantitative methods like experimental survey designs, time series, and qualitative interview analysis to analyze primary and secondary data.
