I am social scientist in the field of agriculture and low carbon energy based at the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research. I apply my interdisciplinary expertise to study social innovation and use participatory methods and social network research to identify co-development strategies for climate action and low carbon solutions.
I completed my PhD at the University of Manchester, conducting research that identifies capacity building pathways to engage farmers in rice straw bioenergy development in Southeast Asia. My most recent project is part of an international research fellowship investigating how energy access planning can be linked to agricultural livelihoods. I also have professional experience in knowledge management and communication, working on themes such as agriculture, climate change, and natural resource management. I have worked on a number of projects in Asia and Africa exploring social learning in agricultural innovation systems, women in fish farming in Tanzania, participation in community-based forest management in the Philippines, and climate change adaptation and mitigation in Indonesia.
