I am a technology policy researcher working to understand the impact of digital technologies, specially artificial intelligence (AI), on societies from a human rights, openness, inclusive access and multi-stakeholder governance perspective. I work at UNESCO’s Digital Innovation and Transformation section in Paris as a specialist consultant. My work involves providing policy advice to governments and developing programmes for reinforcing human and institutional capacities of policymakers and civil society organisations in developing countries. I was a Charpak Scholar in Economics and Public Policy at Sciences Po, Paris. My thematic interests include the intersection of digital technologies with human rights, media development and access to information. In the past, I have worked with a Member of Parliament in India, the City Government of Vancouver, REN21, Paris and founded a multilingual education start-up. My writings have been published in natural and social science journals and have appeared on media platforms including The Economic and Political Weekly, The Wire, HuffPost, India Spend, Business Standard, The Quint and Scroll.
