Brea is an early career Research Fellow at BehaviourWorks and a qualified physiotherapist.
Before joining BehaviourWorks, Brea worked as a physiotherapist at Cabrini Health and as a workshop facilitator in Human Biosciences at La Trobe University.
Brea was recently awarded a PhD from Federation University Australia. Her thesis was on physical activity promotion by physiotherapists and some of the barriers and facilitators that physiotherapists experience when attempting to promote physical activity.
Brea also holds Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science from Deakin University and Health Science from La Trobe University and a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from La Trobe University.
Her previous research has focused on preventing chronic disease through promoting healthy behaviours, specifically physical activity.
As a generalist researcher, Brea’s current research and research methods include literature reviews and coordinating both interview and survey studies. Brea has published two systematic reviews as first author and presented at several local and international conferences.
